What is small and IN CHARGE?

You’re a mover and a shaker.

You feel alive when you create.

A part of you just dies in a normal life.

I’m like you.  We need to shake things up and solve big problems.

We start small businesses and over-deliver.

It feels good to be IN CHARGE.

We get discouraged and feel like quitting.

We get on super-highs and feel like we can conquer the world.

small and IN CHARGE is our place to get tips, resources, and inspiration to help us thrive.

Sure, there’s a lot of pink (because I’m a girl and there are so many cool girls who are small and IN CHARGE), but boys are allowed, too.

How does small and IN CHARGE help you?

Have you started a business and failed?

Have you just dreamed of leaving your job to be self-employed?

Do you think you need a cutting-edge idea to start a business?

I’m here to demystify everything and keep this simple.

You can do it.

I’ll show you how.

You have to want it, but it can happen.  No doubt.

What I’ve created.

Here is how it all started.  My friend called me a month after the birth of her first child. I lounged on my midcentury sofa as I listened to her fluster through her menial struggles. We laughed. Well, I laughed until she said something that changed the course of my life.

[I studied nursing. I set out to love others and impact lives. With a bit of naive confidence and my own daily mantra, “don’t mess up,” I started my career. The pediatric cardiac intensive care unit (for kids after open heart surgery) taught me more in my first month than four years in the university. Emergencies didn’t scare me anymore. Sure, that rush of adrenaline never goes away, but panic long-lost its edge over the six years leading up to this conversation.] “I wouldn’t know what to do if something happened to my baby.” This is MY friend! The educated wife of an Anesthesiologist. The one with the pre-baby checklist. She went on to describe the white-walled, fluorescent-lit sterility where she took the CPR class, aka the hospital. “It sounded way too complicated and unfocused.” It sparked. I knew exactly what I needed to do. I thought about all the things that make a CPR class awful and imagined a scene where friends got together at home and just learned while having a good time.  They were just parties and the idea spread into a very useful reality for many parents.  I have taught thousands within the past few years.  The best part is knowing that those who attend my classes leave with the same empowered feeling.  It’s humbling to receive the same feedback class after class: “No one ever explained it this way,” or “I never knew what CPR really did,” and best yet-with a bit of surprise-“I actually feel confident now.” Something as uncool and boring as CPR training became my blank canvas.  I took my experiences, personality, and aesthetics and created a new type of experience.  You can do this with anything.  That’s why I’m here to inspire you!  You have skills and a unique perspective.  Marry that with people’s needs and you have solved a big problem! Find out here how I started from scratch and I’ll send you free business updates and inspirations to help you conquer your world!

See a trend?  I LOVE inspiring and mobilizing others to action while I’m on the move, too.  Life is just too important to settle.

I grew up in Pasadena, California.  I went to nursing school with the hopes to take some skills to the third world to help orphans.  Right out of school, I naively jumped into the Pediatric CardioThoracic Intensive Care Unit (for kids after open heart surgery).  I loved the adrenaline rush!!!  I’ve traveled to Uganda and set up day clinics in rural villages with nursing students.  I also travelled to India several times to serve in an organization that rescues trafficked girls and AIDS orphans.

I love cooking for friends and have just started making Baklava (a special family recipe).  It’s all about creating for me and cooking is such a great outlet to make something new out of something ordinary.  See this theme?

I started my first business in 2011 and I’m hooked.  I’m already working on a couple different projects.  I’ll keep you posted as things develop.  If you haven’t already, get this ebook: “$14K: 1st 4 Months (exactly what I did)” and then send me an email by filling out the contact form on the bottom of the page.  I promise that I read and reply to every single email myself!
